Blogging: A Dialogue

One thing I forgot to mention in my last post came after we visited some student blogs. One girl exclaimed “it’s like a dialogue!” Spot on! Exactly right! Very astute!

That’s how they all should be. The trouble is that too many kids’ blogs are monologues. When selecting examples to show my students I came across loads which had no comments at all. Not even a few words from the teacher.  That, I found, very disappointing. The parents or siblings or grandparents might have commented, if they knew about it, but surely the other students could have; at least the teacher.
